How to Install your new Lightroom presets!

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

Hey guys! First of all..If you're here after buying my presets, I wanted to start by telling you how truly thankful I am and I really hope they'll come in handy as they have made my life much much easier!

Every single preset is carefully designed to help your style in photography grow. Though all of the presets don't work on every single photo perfectly you need to keep in mind that this is only to help you to quickly achieve a certain look for your photos. My presets work on everything from landscapes, aerial, street, portraits, nature, selfies and more. It's important to find a preset that fits and tweak it a little to your style and preferences.

The installation of my presets in Lightroom is pretty straight forward. In only a few minutes you will have your presets installed and be editing your images.

Important to know:

  • .dng files are for Lightroom versions 4, 5, 6, Lightroom Classic (CC) earlier than version 7.3 & the mobile version.

  • .XMP files are for the newer versions of Lightroom in your computer. So I recommend you update your Lightroom application before you proceed.

For Windows computers:

  • Update your Lightroom application.

  • Open Lightroom go to Edit in the top left corner and click on Preferences and go to the Presets tab.

  • Click on the button Show Lightroom Presets Folder.

  • Double click on the Settings folder, then double click on User presets folder.

  • Now open another folder and go to my preset folder which you just downloaded.

  • Extract the ZIP file and open the folder. You should then see alot of .XMP files.

  • Now copy all of the .XMP files into your User presets folder.

  • Restart Lightroom and you‘re done!

For IOS computers:

  • Update your Lightroom application.

  • Open Lightroom go to Lighroom in the top left corner and click on Preferences and go to the Presets tab.

  • Click on the button Show Lightroom Presets Folder.

  • Double click on the Lightroom folder, double click on Develop Presets folder and then User Presets.

  • Extract the ZIP file and open the folder. You should then see alot of .XMP files.

  • Now copy all of the .XMP files into your Develop Presets folder.

  • Restart Lightroom and you‘re done!

For Lightroom (CC) on Mac or Windows:

  • Update your Lightroom application.

  • Open Lightroom CC and click on the edit icon at the top right corner. The icon looks like three sliders—three horizontal bars with circles on them.

  • At the bottom on the screen you will see a Presets button. Click on it.

  • The presets panel is now revealed.

  • Click on the icon of three dots at the top.

  • In the drop down menu select Import Presets.

  • Now locate where the downloaded presets ZIP file is saved and select Import.

  • All of the presets will now be listed in the Presets panel.

For mobile devices (This can get a bit tricky):

Before we start you need to download 2-3 applications available in the App store on your IOS device or in the GooglePlay Store on your Android device:

  1. Lightroom CC

  2. ZIP & RAR File Extractor (White background with blue ,,ZIP'' letters).

  3. It is also best to do this in Google Crome, we've had some issues with other browsers.

  • When you have bought the presets and entered your email address (It's important to enter the correct email address). You should receive your email very quickly. Check your trash folder if you can't find it anywhere.

  • Find the mobile preset ZIP folder and press download.

  • After the download press Open in ''Zip Extractor''

  • This will take you to the ZIP application. Press the folder and then Extract.

  • Now open the extracted folder and you should see a list of files.

  • Press the (i) icon on the right, press Open in.. and find the Lightroom CC application and press Copy to Lightroom.

  • Then you should get an image from me already edited.

  • Press the white circle with three black dots on it on the top right corner.

  • Press Create Preset.

  • Name the preset.

  • Preset group should be: User presets or make your own group (For example: B&W presets).

  • Check all the boxes

  • Hit the check icon on the top right corner.

  • Slide the toolbar on the bottom to the left until you see two circles colliding and under the icon, it says Presets.

  • Now you follow the same process for all the other presets. Press the (i) icon on the right, press Open in.. and find the Lightroom CC application and press Copy to Lightroom and so and so forth.

  • ATTENTION: You must do this for all of the presets in your folder. Otherwise you won't get all of them into your application.
